Michalis Papakostas

Machine Learning Researcher

Michalis Papakostas is a Machine Learning Researcher at Trase, focusing on advancing the reasoning process of intelligent agents. Michalis has multiple yers of experience researching and developing intelligent systems across a variety of industries, including healthcare, entertainment, and automotive sectors. Prior to joining Trase, he contributed to developing multimodal intelligent solutions for the hearing impaired at GN Group and played a critical role in building novel, artist-centric AI systems for production music generation and artist-copyright protection at SourceAudio. Before this, Michalis was awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship, by the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where he worked on monitoring drivers’ behavior in collaboration with the Toyota Research Institute. Michalis holds a Ph.D. in Multimodal AI for Human Behavior Modeling from the University of Texas at Arlington. He lives in Chicago with his family, and he likes to spend his free time boxing, doing early morning yoga, and enjoying other outdoor activities.
